Reno Celtic Celebration

Taking a bow on the Amphitheater stage at Reno Celtic Celebration in Downtown Reno, Nevada. Here we are Gairin Celtic Music, Tom and Mary Kay Aufrance and Dick Johnson, thanking our audience for their enthusiastic reception to our songs and tunes of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and other Celtic lands (including our own).
Brewery Arts Celtic Festival

We had another enthusiastic audience at the Brewery Arts Celtic Festival in Carson City, NV. That's Penny Fairfield on penny whistle, Rex Reed on mandolin, Tom Aufrance guitar and vocals, Mary Kay Aufrance accordion and vocals, and Gerald Heston vocals. And, yes! Gerald is playing the coconuts. We were on the playbill with the epic and innovative Celtic Rock Band Tempest, and on this occasion Tempest featured one of the hottest bass players in the world Ariane Capp!
Music for Tahoe Arts Project

Our Gairin Celtic Band includes the phenomenal classical guitarist turned Celtic mandolinist Dick Johnson, and here we are on stage for this performance at the Tahoe Arts Project arts and music fair. We also regaled the evening reception in South Lake Tahoe. Thanks for this photo goes out to Joan Rowe.

Since Tom started his music career as a roadie for Medicine Bow, or was it Northstar Rockers, two super popular Ohio Rock n Roll bands, he was a natural for setting up our system at the Nevada State Parks Pioneer Day.
At The County Fair
Thanks to Plumas-Sierra County Fair for catching us in the act! Slim and Minnie are a tradition in Plumas-Sierra County.

The first greeting for fair goers is always our good old time playing and singing. We also entertained for the rodeo and Cattlemen's parties.

Here we are on a commemorative card printed up to celebrate the Plumas Sierra County Fair Parade. It shows us as "Slim and Minnie" parading in the annual Plumas-Sierra County Fair Parade in Quincy, California. Some day, will this card be placed in a time capsule or a museum?
Celtic Sunday at Valhalla

Our first Celtic band performing Renaissance and Celtic music with fellow musicians for Valhalla Celtic Sunday at the Tahoe Tallac Historic Site, South Lake Tahoe, California. Performers are Jack Shipley hammered dulcimer, Cliff Blackmore fiddle, Lucy DuPertuis accordion, Mary Kay Aufrance button box and vocals, Tom Aufrance guitar and vocals, Pamela Taylor percussion and vocals, and John Roos bodhran and vocals. We laughingly called ourselves "Heavy Meadow."
Winter Ren Fairs

At Leslie Fudge's Winter Rensaissance Fairs and soirees we enjoy performing with the region's most talented vocalists and musicians. Leslie is director of several vocal groups, from early music to jazz. For this performance we joined with Leslie Fudge vocalist, Bill Hecht pianist and composer, Susan Mazer harpist and Dallas Smith flutist to present early music at a variety of locations in Reno, Nevada. Performing with Leslie and Bill for many venues, we always enjoy the experience!
